If you were me, how would you describe yourself? Would you mention your age, where you grew up, where you went to school, some of your personality traits? I could talk about those things, but in the end they’re not really “about” me these days, are they?

Simply put, I have been shaped by the world around me. As the only son of Portuguese immigrants, I do my best not to be ignorant of other cultures and the profound impact they have had, and continue to have, on the social landscape in Canada.

A fan of technology since my early years, I am extremely proficient with most technological devices from the basic stuff like TVs and DVD players all the way to computer network architecture and the latest smartphone.

I’m a very open minded individual. I am in the centre of the political spectrum. I’m highly opinionated and not afraid to express those opinions. I like to think of myself as a generally kind, warm-hearted person. One day I’d love to own my own restaurant and/or nightclub and am slowly working my way toward that goal. I am also giving some thought to beginning a political career.

And finally…

“Here’s to the crazy ones.
The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.
They’re not fond of rules.
And they have no respect for the status quo.
You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them.
Because they change things.
They push the human race forward.
And while some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world,
Are the ones who do.”
